If you had trouble with email on 05/28/05

These messages should have been posted on Friday and they were not.

5/28/05We have identified and killed the source on the mail bombing this morning.
Mail should now be returning to normal, although it may take an hour or so to deal with the queued up items.

5/28/05We are under attack by a "mail bomber" this morning, who is throwing messages at our server at a rate of about 500 per minute. They are all being denied, but it still is overloading the available ports. You may experience some mail difficulties until this idiot realizes that all of his messages are being denied.

Anti-phishing Applications

What is Phishing?

The act of sending an e-mail to a user falsely claiming to be an established legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft. The e-mail directs the user to visit a Web site where they are asked to update personal information, such as passwords and credit card, social security, and bank account numbers, that the legitimate organization already has.
